Tell us more about yourself:
What are your fitness goals?
I competed for the first time as a Fitness athlete in 2016 and enjoyed it so much that I am now totally hooked! It has taught me how strong a person can be, both on a mental and physical level and it made me realise that if you really are passionate about something you can achieve it. With passion and willpower, anything is possible and your dreams are within your reach to accomplish! One of my dreams is to compete at the Arnold Classic Africa and I was fortunate enough to meet Annelize Dohne who chose me to be an ambassador for BTD (Born To Dominate). With her guidance and knowledge, I now know this goal is more than achievable! I would like to reach a balance between competing and the off-season and maintain a healthy physique throughout the year.
What are your hobbies?
I absolutely love food, so naturally, I love experimenting with new healthy dishes, especially when it comes to prep food, same ingredients but different ways to make it and represent it on a plate.
I am blessed to work in a gym and being an athlete I love to train, whether it be basic cardio or lifting weights. The gym is my happy place where I get to go into my own world and challenge myself. It is by far the best stress reliever and can turn any bad day into a better one!
Do you have any sporting/fitness achievements you would like to share?
BBFSA Garden Route Classic July 2016 – Beach Bikini division – placed 5th.
IFBB Friendly City Classic June 2017 – Beach Bikini division – placed 1st.
IFBB EP Championships August 2017 – Beach Bikini division – placed 3rd.
After placing 3rd at my last show, I was chosen to compete at the IFBB SA Championships in 2017, in a new division – Fitness Bikini.
I, unfortunately, fell ill and could not compete but did attend the event to support fellow athletes and friends.
Why did you enter the USN Face of Fitness 2017?
I would love to become a support system and help to encourage other women, athletes and non-athletes alike, to focus on their dreams and goals.
Being an athlete has taught me so much and I know the difficulties, challenges and self-doubt that we, especially women, face on a daily basis. I also know just how important and vital it is to have a support system, with someone who understands what you are facing and gives you love, support and the correct advice. We need a real person we can relate to so that we as women can empower each other!
