Tell us more about yourself:
What are your fitness goals?
My own personal fitness goals are to continue to maintain a balanced lifestyle and enjoy the small things while still focusing on the bigger picture. I would like to travel overseas and compete in the World Championships for WFF/NABBA and place first in my category.I have actually given myself a time-frame of 3 years to accomplish this.
I qualified as a personal trainer which formed part of my personal journey of being obese to becoming fit and healthy again. I believe I have the experience to teach and the skill set to coach others to also make progress in their own lives. In the future I would love to open my own fitness facility.
What are your hobbies?
I love the outdoors, hiking, biking, nature walks, indoor and outdoor volleyball. I also am a huge fan of the gym, hence my profession; free weights and HIIT cardio sessions.
Do you have any sporting/fitness achievements you would like to share?
When I was in high school I captained the volleyball team and was chosen as vice-captain of the Provincial volleyball team for 5 years in a row.
I recently placed first place in my category and received my Provincial Colours in NABBA bodybuilding.
Why did you enter the USN Face of Fitness 2016?
I love setting new challenges for myself and this is one of them. I feel that entering this competition will allow me to tell my story and show my lifestyle transformation to help others that are in a similar situation see that anything is possible with the right attitude and perseverance. I went from being an insecure obese girl who lived a very unhealthy lifestyle as a single mom of 2 children to a healthy fitness guru. This is a long-term relationship and no quick fix! I enjoy teaching people how to follow the right steps with patience and self-control and help them on their own journey to lead a better, healthier and fitter lifestyle.
