What are your fitness goals?
Ever since embarking on this healthy lifestyle I have learned a lot about my body and what it is capable of. My fitness goals are primarily to push past any limitations and to improve my condition. I am proud of what I was able to achieved thus far. I was 24 kg heavier and am astounded at what the human body is capable of. I now am living a healthier lifestyle and could not be happier. I have also found a new passion in competing and being on stage makes me feel alive and that I could conquer anything in the world! I would really like to inspire others and give them the necessary motivation they need to overcome their own obstacles in life. I was once there so I feel I can relate to people who are struggling with weight issues. We all have our own battles that we are fighting but if I could somehow make a difference that would make me extremely happy. I would like to give people hope and show them that anything is possible. On my social media I am extremely honest about my fitness journey. When I am having a bad day or feel demotivated I voice it because I feel everyone should know the truth and that it is not always an easy path. We are all human and there is nothing wrong to slip up now and then and get up again to push forward and become stronger than we were before! The mind plays an integral part in everything and it does take time for us to convince ourselves but once we have silenced that little negative voice inside our head we can conquer the world. I want other people to experience the amazing transformation your body is actually capable of. The work you put in will ultimately determine the end result.
What are your hobbies?
I was never a sporty person in school and only started showing interest in the fitness world in 2016. The gym is now my happy place, a place where I can be myself and work on my fitness goals. I usually do two sessions a day. I enjoy my fasted cardio in the mornings as this is a great way to start my day. Cardio makes me feel fresh and ready to take on the challenges of the day. I perform my weight sessions at night as I feel this is the best way to end off the day. I am at the gym 7 days a week. On weekends I still wake up early to do my fasted cardio as it has become part of my routine. I love every minute spent at the gym as it is an environment I can relax and be myself.
Do you have any sporting/fitness achievements you would like to share?
I started competing this year and I have done 4 shows in total. I competed in the Beach Bikini division up to 1.63m.
- IFBB Novice (Port Elizabeth) – 3rd place
- IFBB Buffalo Classic and Arnold qualifier (East London) – 2nd place
- IFBB EP Provincials (Port Elizabeth) – 1st place
- IFBB SA Championships (Mpumalanga – Witbank) – 6th place
Why did you enter the USN Face of Fitness 2017?
I entered this competition as I feel it would give me the opportunity to further my career in the fitness and health industry. I have grown a huge passion for this lifestyle and I enjoy learning about what our bodies are capable of and the different foods we can eat to lead a healthier lifestyle. Many think that we are so limited when it comes to living or being healthy but we can have so much fun doing it! I also want to inspire others during my journey as I feel not many know much about this particular lifestyle. People also have limitations that are holding them back. I have never been this happy in my life and I want others to feel the same!
